Alongside Tall Grasses
Alongside Tall Grasses is a site-specific project and exhibition commissioned by the Brandywine Museum of Art. The photographs in the hall were mounted directly on plywood and were organized in groupings. Each grouping derived from a single walk in specific landscape: the town of Chadds Ford, Stroud Nature Preserve and Route 202. The photograph at the end of the hall titled July, Kuerner Farm, features an assemblage of objects and flora collected from around the Kuerner Farm property. An important element of the exhibition was the creation of A Walker’s Guide to Chadds Ford. The free guide was part of the installation and encouraged museum visitors to explore the surrounding landscapes on foot.
